Terminal Management Solution….

Terminal Management Solution goes from strength to strength
Fargo Systems, the specialist transport management software provider, is set to launch its latest version of CYMAN (Container Yard / Terminal Management) software, with a number of significant improvements.

As the number of gate movement message formats continues to grow, the maintenance and repair (M&R) module has been enhanced and asset management (most notably for trailer hire) has been added. Manufacturing and factory gate requirements are also catered for and a unique ‘in progress’ explorer providing real-time dynamic ‘status’ snapshots of vehicles in the depot or terminal and whether they are loading, unloading etc.

CODECO messaging (the management and visibility of container stock movements) and invoicing for storage remain the key benefits of CYMAN and were the major reasons Roadways Container Logistics chose Fargo System’s CYMAN.

Roadways Container Logistics is one of the UK’s leading multimodal transport and container handling specialists. The user-friendly CYMAN is in operation at Roadways Container Logistics depots’ in Manchester, Leeds and BIFT (Birmingham Intermodal Freight Terminal) and in the last 20 months has processed over 300,000 container movements.

Phil Wilkes, IT General Manager at Roadways Container Logistics, comments: “Our terminals have operated on CYMAN for approximately two years and it manages all aspects of our yard operations including the rail moves at BIFT and Manchester. We have recently worked very closely with Fargo Systems to implement the new M&R module which simplifies and integrates our repair processes even further with other yard activity.”

Fargo Systems General Manager, Colin Potter, explains, “CYMAN is the ideal scalable solution for managing a container depot with all its inbound/outbound movements. The design of CYMAN makes it suitable for all scenarios, from smaller companies operating a single container haulage yard, to larger organisations dealing with multiple terminals and locations. It satisfies the reporting requirements of an increasing number of shipping lines, which rely on it for equipment control purposes.”

Further functionality includes rail and barge planning, container positioning with intricate 3D designed stacks, and port community system interfaces for inland customs clearance. CYMAN is available in six different languages and can be tailored for new and existing clients.
