Fargo Systems Showcase Software at Intermodal 2013

Leading software provider, Fargo Systems, return to Europe’s leading event for container, transport & logistics across road, rail and sea; Intermodal Europe (Hamburg, October 8th – October 10th, stand D06).

Showcasing a complete suite of products to assist shipping lines, forwarders, 3PLs and transport companies manage their container movements more efficiently. Products on show will include TOPS, the award-nominated container transport management system, and CYMAN, a multi-lingual, multi-depot, terminal / yard management system. Also in the portfolio are Android smartphone applications;

– TOPS…on the go; is an in-cab job management solution and provides real time tracking, ETA information, detention alerts, status updates and electronic PODs.

– TOPS…Traffic on the go; is a smartphone app designed for transport operators, providing a quick and easy view of the traffic diary for use away from the depot.

– CYMAN…on the go; is a mobile smartphone management tool for the container yard.

Also on show at Intermodal 2013 is TOPS…Web. Built on the latest technology, TOPS…Web is Fargo System’s new generation of web portal, which provides customers, consignees and subcontractor access to view and update their transport orders.

The latest version of the TOPS transport management system incorporates various enhancements to improve efficiency, maximise profit, and assist in carbon emissions reduction.

The ‘Multimodal Profit Optimiser’ suite of tools includes a planning wizard to identify container ‘twinning’ and ‘reload’ possibilities, a route optimiser for multi-drop trips, a quick and simple alternative transport mode determinant, and a profitability optimiser that compares standard default tariffs, subcontractor-specific ones, own fleet running costs and any ad-hoc quotes that may have been received.

The user-friendly wizard can help reduce empty running miles for container road transport and allows the operator to optimise routing based on customer requirements, equipment type, location, etc. and offers best matches all within the transport management system itself.

A new Trunk and Route Plan Wizard adds further ability to auto-determine jobs best suited for rail or other alternative means of transport. In addition, a train planning module provides a sophisticated way of managing contracted or self-operated rail services with equipment checks and a wagon space optimiser. CO ²/Kg emissions can of course also be entered for different transport modes (road, rail, barge…) and reported back to the customer on a regular basis.

The software also includes integrated equipment control decision-making tools to manage inland terminal stocks and operations, maintenance and visibility of port quay and terminal rents, together with demurrage and detention cost and revenue management.
