Electronic POD solutions are creating a buzz

Since its unveiling at last year’s Multimodal show, Fargo Systems Ltd’s (FSL) newest product offering TOPS ePOD has been successfully implemented with a number of customers, subcontractors and drivers.  Interest in the electronic proof of delivery (POD) solution has been extremely high with TOPS ePOD transforming how proof of delivery and status updates are dealt with.

One such customer is Maze Logistic Solutions. Now in its sixth year of trading, Maze Logistic Solutions is a specialist container haulier that operates from all UK ports and inland container yards.  After a successful trial, Maze is now implementing TOPS ePOD and is benefitting greatly from the ability to send transport instructions and receive POD updates.  Maze will be rolling out TOPS ePOD to all customers and drivers throughout the first quarter of 2017.

Ryan Jiggens for Maze Logistic Solutions comments; “The TOPS ePOD trial has been a great success for us, the provision of real-time status and event information enables us to stay one step ahead throughout the entire delivery process.  It makes pre-job planning and post-job reporting simpler and supports our drivers’ location accuracy through the view location option. We are very impressed by how easy it was to implement.  It required very little pre-use setup or training, enabling us to seamlessly introduce the procedure into our operation from day one. The use of TOPS ePOD has become part of our standard operating procedure, and will continue to support Maze with its growth strategy for 2017.”

Maze Logistic Solutions is a supplier to leading logistics provider Kuehne + Nagel Ltd.  For freight forwarders such as Kuehne + Nagel, the availability of up to the minute status information and live POD information provides complete real-time visibility throughout the supply chain, improving efficiency and customer service. Marc Wynne, UK Intermodal Manager for Kuehne + Nagel comments; “We actively encourage our suppliers to take on TOPS ePOD.  It fills the gap between hauliers who don’t have vehicle telematics and those that do with the added benefit of live POD information.  It is a cost-effective and easy way of implementing real-time POD information and facilitates the immediate transfer of POD information which is invaluable to us.”

TOPS ePOD is more than just a proof of delivery tool, it provides a simple, secure and efficient way of getting the full transport order instructions to the driver. The system provides a real-time method of receiving an electronic POD from your driver or subcontractor as well as making it possible to receive live job status information, including actual arrival and departure times, ETA warnings and an electronic POD.  Drivers can use the camera on their devices to send additional documents to the office, from photographic evidence of damage, or to capture paper PODs.  The system is plug and play and can be used on any mobile device with a data connection, with no training necessary.  The system requires zero administration, no device setup and has no upfront costs; these benefits combined with the fact that it is maintenance-free, make it the perfect POD solution.

Steve Collins, General Manager of Fargo Systems Ltd adds; “More and more customers are looking for real-time visibility and those that have seen TOPS ePOD are excited by the possibilities it can give them.  The real beauty of the system lies in its simplicity for transport planners, drivers and suppliers.”
